The matte white finish blends into most home interiors without looking too "surveillance-like."
There are two spec sheets and they differ. TP-Link's version selector on the product page marks the V1 End of Life and offers one other entry, V2.20; its download centre lists more hardware revisions than that, up to V3.60, so treat "the current sheet" rather than a version number as the thing being quoted here. The V1 sheet carries an F/2.4 lens at 3.83 mm and lists motion detection as its only trigger. The current sheet carries an F2.0 lens at 4 mm, adds person and baby-cry detection, and publishes RTSP, ONVIF, a 10.8x digital zoom, an 88 dB siren and a 30 fps maximum — and the Amazon listing advertises person and baby-cry detection, so that is the feature set being sold. One figure only the retired V1 sheet carries is the power cable, "3 Meter Power Cable", about 9.8 ft. Either way it is mains-powered, with no battery option.

You control the viewing angle remotely through the Tapo app, eliminating blind spots without repositioning the camera physically.

2K QHD Resolution (3MP)#
The Tapo C210 captures video at 2304 x 1296 pixels - that's 44% more pixels than standard 1080p cameras. You can digitally zoom into footage and still identify facial features clearly at typical room distances, or read text on packages from across a room.
This resolution means you'll capture useful detail for security purposes - package labels on deliveries, or identifying visitors at your door. TP-Link's current sheet rates it for 10.8x digital zoom, so there is room to push in on a frame after the fact.
Motion Tracking#
When motion is detected, the camera automatically pans and tilts to follow the moving subject, keeping it centered in frame. This works for people, pets, and moving objects, eliminating the frustration of reviewing footage where the action moved out of view.
Combined with customizable activity zones - which TP-Link notes work with motion detection only - you can focus detection on specific areas like doorways or cribs, and set custom privacy zones that block chosen parts of the frame from being recorded at all.
Baby Crying Detection#
Beyond standard motion detection, the Tapo C210 includes baby crying detection that listens for specific audio patterns and sends alerts when crying is detected. This works alongside visual motion detection, so you're notified whether your baby is crying or moving around.

Two Things The Listing Gets Wrong#
First, storage. The listing's title says "SD Card Storage (Up to 256 GB)" and Amazon's own storage-capacity field repeats 256 GB — but TP-Link's spec sheet says "1× MicroSD Card Slot (Up to 512 GB)" in two places, and the listing's own bullets say "up to a 512 GB microSD card", as does the comparison chart on the same page. The manufacturer and three of the four listing surfaces agree on 512 GB; the title is the outlier.
Second, succession. The C210's Amazon page renders Amazon's native "There is a newer model of this item:" module, scoped to this listing's ASIN, pointing at the Tapo C246D — the same dual-lens camera it points C220 buyers at. The C210 is still in stock, and TP-Link's End-of-Life marker sits on the V1 rather than on the current revision, but the C246D is where Amazon is steering you.
Advanced Night Vision#
The camera includes 850 nm IR LEDs that TP-Link rates for 30 ft (9 m) of night vision. The infrared automatically activates when light levels drop below a threshold, switching back to color during daytime.
That 30-foot range covers typical room dimensions easily - bedrooms, living rooms or garages. TP-Link's own pitch for a nursery is that the C210 has "Naptime-Friendly Night Vision: Invisible night vision keeps an eye on your sleeping baby without the distraction of visible red lights".
