4. Companion Software and Onboard DSP#

Each of these microphones ships with a free desktop app, and each app runs real processing — EQ, compression, noise gating — that used to require outboard hardware. The important framing: the software adds features, it does not gate basic operation. 5. Sample Rate and Polar Pattern Are Where the Marketing Lives#

This is the section that turns a spec sheet from a sales tool back into a comparison, because two of its most-quoted numbers do almost nothing here.
